Steve Blake (Douglas Hodge) uncovers a global conspiracy after witnessing the death and apparent resurrection of a man in a car-crash. His investigations lead him to discover many more incidents, all of which seem to be linked to the drowned village of Sweethope. Another factor connecting the mysterious deaths is Chief Superintendent Philip Gates (Leslie Grantham), who may be the key to an alien invasion threat.
